You may have heard a lot of people saying working from home is good. You earn a lot of money rather than working at a corporate office. Yes, it is true, but WFH is not as easy as 1,2,3. A lot has failed in it, and you don’t want to be one of those. The secret to success is creating a structure for your work from home life. Here a few tips you can use to start your life as a freelancer or a virtual assistant in the Philippines.
The first is to organize and establish an adequate working space. This is very important. You will be catering to businesses in the US, Canada, or other countries your client is from. As much as possible, you need a space where it will be noise-free. You may use noise cancellation headsets or apps that would reduce background noise.
Second, make sure to learn the basics. Know how to use Google documents, spreadsheets, and any other applications that you can think of. The more knowledge you have, the better. If you are new to this, well, you have an option to work with agencies like The VA hub. They offer free training to their VAs before being thrown to the battlefield to be interviewed by possible clients.
Third, know to leave space for new learning. In freelancing, there is always something new that you would learn. It may be about prospecting, lead generation, social media marketing, or even graphic design. It’s a vast world, and your best weapon here is being open to learning and growth.
Lastly and this may be a challenge for everyone who is starting. Be always motivated and be patient. There are times that you quickly get a client, but it’s not every day that it happens. It would be best if you were motivated to seek more and be patient while waiting for a prospective clients’ decision.
This type of work may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but with the right attitude and mindset, you will succeed in this journey.
“If you want to live a happy life, tie it to a goal, not to people or things.” — Albert Einstein.
