What was your job prior to joining TVH?
I used to be a chat moderator before I became a VA.
What made you decide to become a VA?
What made me decide to become a VA at that time was the realization that this is where the employment world is heading — the virtual space. The pandemic had taken its toll on the working force and changed our daily lives. Everything is done on the internet now. Virtual meetings, online classes, online seminars, etc. can now all be done in the comforts of your home. It was the right choice to pursue the best career in accordance with the world’s current state.
Tell us about your TVH journey:
Well, to be honest, I don’t have a painful or interesting backstory about how I started. There was no dire need to get a job, I just really didn’t want my mom to pay for the things I want to buy anymore. I wanted to have my own funds because my mom was already spending for my siblings. She’s a widow, and ever since my dad died, I’ve put it upon myself to find a way to help with the expenses, even if it was just my own. I knew that it would still be a huge help because she’d have one less kid to worry about. I applied at TVH with that in mind which made me give my 101% during the training and made sure that I get in… and I did! Also, I had this sort of goal in mind when I first joined. So, TVH gives awards to their agents every year on their anniversary and being the person I am, I wanted to get an award, so I did. I worked hard, accepted every client, accepted every task, and worked extra hours (wouldn’t recommend this, I really just don’t like leaving unfinished work; it’s for my peace of mind) just to get noticed. I was quiet in chats, but my work spoke for me and that got me where I am now, where I want to be.
Your TVH Achievements (Bonuses, Incentives, Awards, Prizes, Purchases, etc.)
First, I always win in company games, one way or another. I’m a loser when it comes to raffles because I never get picked for anything randomly generated in my life, but when it’s company games, I always make sure I win a prize. The only time I lost was the Women’s day activity when my internet was bad. Second, my “Un-kabogable All Arounder ng Laguna” award. I almost cried when I heard I was awarded it because I didn’t know that they were seeing me, that I was being noticed. During that time, I was having a lot of self-doubts. I didn’t know if I was doing the right thing, if I was doing a good job, or if I was doing my role as a Marketing Assistant well. I just didn’t know, and that award was like a confirmation that I was doing okay. It validated all the hard work that I had been doubting and I couldn’t be more relieved. And last, my child, my car, my Nine. She’s a red Toyota Vios 2022 model, top of the line, and I bought her within 6 months of working with TVH.
Alright, let’s get a little bit sappy and tell us your message to TVH:
TVH, I hope you love having me as your agent as much as I love being part of this company. Thank you for all the support you’ve given me ever since I started. Thank you for teaching me discipline, and professionalism, and for giving me the most amazing opportunity of working virtually that I could ever get. For once, I actually have my future planned and it’s all because of TVH. I’m only 22 (I’m not sure if I’m the youngest here in TVH right now though) and yet I’m steps ahead of my peers. I’m so proud of who I’ve become because of TVH. More power to us!
Let’s give a push and gentle back pats to all our aspiring VAs, shall we?
I’m not an inspirational person, but all I can say is just do it because that’s all I did. I just did it since it’s already in front of my face. I believe that’s how you move forward in life. Even if you get scared, even if you get intimidated, even if you feel like you’re not good enough, just do it.
You’ll be surprised how far you’ll be able to go after just doing it a couple of times. Oh, and also, keep in mind all of TVH’s current active VA’s. If we were able to do it, then you should be fine. You’ll make it, too!
