In this era where electronic use is prevalent and electronic media is a trend, it is only fitting that entrepreneurs utilize the internet to advertise their business. As the number of businesses which uses online platforms increases, so does the need for highly-trained virtual assistants.
A PayPal & Freelancers report by PayPal reveals the Philippines’ gig economy is expected to grow in the coming years as Filipino freelancers expect more jobs. However, the real question is what makes a good virtual assistant in terms of creating video content?
Justin Odisho, who runs a podcast and a YouTube channel in the fields of photo and video, has listed some skills a great video editor should possess to produce quality video content.
A good VA who is tasked to produce video contents must be:
- Good in communicating and story-telling. A video is a channel for communication and you should be able to convey emotion using it.
- Skilled in knowing what to take away. You should be able to effectively decide which elements of the video need to stay and shouldn’t.
- A good visualizer. You should be able to imagine what your end product would look like.
- Technically proficient in editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Vegas Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Lightroom, etc. The better you know your tools, the better you’ll be able to tell your story.
- A good problem solver. Be able to arrange the clips and maximize your soundtracks and whatnot. Treat video editing as solving a puzzle.
If many VAs have these skills, there are no doubts their virtual assistant rates would increase drastically. Why? Because almost all businesses across the globe use the media in any way, shape or form in growing their market reach and increasing their profit.
The more skills a virtual assistant has, the more likely clients will keep him or her. They will no longer need to look for other professionals because, in a way, you are already a one-stop-shop.
There are many ways you can do to upskill your self in creating video content. If you spend a lot of time on YouTube, might as well subscribe to these channels that offer free tutorials:
